Two local businesses have earned national recognition for their marketing efforts, according to officials from those companies.

Dayton-based Commuter Advertising Inc. has received the 2013 National Grand Prize AdWheel Award for Facebook, presented by the American Public Transportation Association. The AdWheel awards honor members’ marketing and communications efforts in five media categories: print, electronic, campaigns, social media, and special events.

Commuter Advertising, which provides stop-specific audio and text advertising on public transit vehicles, also won two first-place AdWheel awards, one for Twitter and another for a multi-platform social media campaign, officials said.

The Scene 75 entertainment complex in Vandalia has been nominated as an international finalist in two awards categories by the International Assocation of Amusement Parks and Attractions. Scene 75 was nominated for Brass Ring awards for best public relations program and best digital marketing campaign, company officials said.
