DAYTON — Tristan Koehler, owner of 19 Dayton-area Domino’s Pizza franchise stores, announced this morning that he is adding breakfast pizza — which has been served at the Domino’s location adjacent to the University of Dayton since 2010 — to the menu of all of his other Dayton-area locations, where it will be available “all day, every day.”
And Koehler very much wants customers to try the new breakfast pizza — so much so that he’s giving away an estimated 3,000 breakfast pies in the next 30 days.
The pizza is made with eggs and cheese rather than pizza sauce and cheese, and is topped with items such as ham or bacon. Koehler said he decided to make the product available at an additional 18 locations because he noticed that the breakfast pizza became a strong seller at all hours, not just in the mornings, at the UD store, which in 2010 became the first Domino’s in the country to open 24 hours a day.
The local stores will be giving away free samples through a gift certificate available at its “Dayton Domino’s” Facebook Page and at the 5391 North Dixie Drive location from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, where the company will be giving away 103 free breakfast pizzas as part of a WXEG-FM radio promotion, Koehler said in a news release. In addition, Domino’s will be giving away 5 free breakfast pizzas per day per store to customers at random.
The new specialty pizza is available only at the 19 Dayton-area stores operated by franchise owner Koehler. Domino’s officials will study the breakfast pizza’s performance in Dayton, and, “we won’t know if it will go national until we see the results,” Koehler said.
