New CEO, president named for area hospice programs

Staff Report

DAYTON — Kent Anderson has been picked to become the new CEO and president of The Hospice of Dayton and The Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties, effective Aug. 23, according to a press release.

Anderson has more than 16 years of leadership experience in operating hospice programs, most recently serving as the chief of program administration officer at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers, Fla. His naming to the top post follows a nationwide search by the organization’s board of directors.

Anderson replaces Deborah Dailey, who is retiring after 10 years of service. During Dailey’s tenure, the number of patients receiving care on a daily basis more than doubled to nearly 600, and a second inpatient care center opened in 2009 in Franklin. That 14-bed care center serves Warren and Butler counties.

The Hospice of Dayton and The Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties serve a seven-county area in southwestern Ohio.

According to a federal tax form for 2008, the most recent year available, the nonprofit had $38.2 million in program service revenue, $40.7 million in expenses and total assets of $44.2 million.
