New home permits up in November

DAYTON — Area building permits jumped nearly 30 percent in November, according to the Home Builders Association of Dayton.

Permits issued in November reached 100, compared with 77 permits a year ago, the association said. The most recent month’s totals included 96 single-family homes and four condominiums.

In comparison, home permits in November 2008 marked a drop of nearly 59 percent from the same month in 2007.

For the first 11 months, home permits stayed nearly flat, reaching 1,708 versus 1,709 during the same period a year ago.
