BEAVERCREEK — The owners of Bahn Mai Thai Cafe in Washington Twp. have signed a lease to open a restaurant called Crazy Mango Bar & Bistro at The Greene, according to Judy Silva, who co-owns Bahn Mai with her husband Bob Silva.

The restaurant will move into the space that previously housed Joya’s Bistro at 81 Magnolia Lane, near the center’s Von Maur store.

Silva said she and her husband hope to open Crazy Mango Bar & Bistro in spring 2013. The restaurant will hire enough employees to fill the equivalent of 30 full-time positions, she said.

Crazy Mango’s menu will include “international eclectic” dishes, Silva said, and will include Italian-style pizzas, gourmet burgers, hand-cut fries and curry dishes.

The restaurant, which seats 104 inside and 38 on its patio, is “ready to go” and will require little in the way of new equipment, Silva said.

“We love The Greene, and we think it’s an excellent location,” Silva said. “We feel very blessed to have this opportunity.”

Bahn Mai Thai, which has operated for nearly eight years at 725 Lyons Road in the Washington Park Plaza, will close sometime prior to Jan. 31.

“We have enjoyed our almost eight years serving our fantastic customers, without whom the Crazy Mango would not be possible,” Silva said. “Our lease expires on Jan. 31, and we have decided not to pursue a renewal at our existing location as we want to focus our full attention on the Crazy Mango.”

Silva said she wouldn’t rule out opening a Bahn Mai elsewhere in the future, and said a few dishes from the Thai restaurant’s menu will find a home on the menu of Crazy Mango.

Tentative plans call for the restaurant to be open for dinner seven nights a week and for lunch Friday through Sunday, Silva said.
