SUGARCREEK TWP., Greene County — The 5 Seasons Family Sports Club at 4242 Clyo Road has launched a full-service restaurant called Racquets that is open to the public for dinner three nights a week.

5 Seasons previously operated a deli and lounge that was open to club members only, and decided to split the dining area so that a portion could be devoted to the restaurant that is open to the public, according to Bruce Stapleton, chief club officer at the sports complex.

Racquets seats about 70 and offers a daily seafood special, ribeye steak, chicken cordon bleu, BBQ salmon and other entrees, as well as deli sandwiches and salads. It is open from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, although it will be closed Oct. 6 for a previously scheduled event, Stapleton said. Racquets will host a “murder mystery” event Oct. 12 and a jazz band Oct. 26.

Stapleton said opening the restaurant to the public will allow residents “to see what we do here” and perhaps persuade some diners to purchase memberships. “We want the public to experience what the club is about,” he said. 5 Seasons offers indoor and outdoor facilities for tennis, fitness and swimming, and operates a day spa and salon in addition to its food service.
