Sinclair providing cheaper training to BBB-accredited businesses

DAYTON — Sinclair Community College and the Better Business Bureau said they have signed an agreement for the college to provide BBB-accredited businesses with training courses at reduced prices.

The arrangement is effective immediately, both organizations said Monday, Dec. 28. It is a one-year deal that is to be reviewed over time and can be extended by mutual agreement, said Gary Honnert, a spokesman for Sinclair’s workforce development and corporate services division.

The courses include a variety of topics including software training, management training and business operational concerns ranging from employee assessment to career advancement. The agreement applies to non-credit workforce development offerings, not the regular credit offerings of the college, Honnert said.

The agreement provides an additional benefit for BBB-accredited businesses and gives Sinclair access to additional students for its courses, spokesmen for both organizations said.

Discussions during the past two months resulted in the agreement, said Sheri Sword, spokeswoman for the Better Business Bureau organization in Dayton.

Sinclair is in talks with other organizations in hopes of reaching similar agreements which could be announced in upcoming months, Honnert said. He declined to identify those groups.
