Soin hospital to admit first patients Feb. 22

BEAVERCREEK — The Indu and Raj Soin Medical Center has tentatively planned to open its emergency department on Feb. 22, and begin accepting elective patients the following day, a hospital spokeswoman said this week.

The $135 million hospital at 3535 Pentagon Blvd. will have 90 beds.

Officials have said the new hospital will offer emergency care, general surgery, a birthing center, orthopedic care, cardiac care, critical care, medical imaging and diagnostic services.

The hospital, named after local philanthropist and businessman Raj Soin and his wife, will create 250 to 300 new jobs.

A spokeswoman for the hospital’s parent, Kettering Health Network, said in September that those new jobs won’t come at the expense of KHN’s Greene Memorial Hospital in Xenia.
