The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved credits Monday for seven projects that are expected to lead to the creation of 335 new jobs and the retention of 2,038 jobs across the state.

Among those are two local projects, the expansion of the Eco-Groupe Inc. in Vandalia and Green Bay Packaging Inc. in its move to Lebanon.

The Tax Credit Authority approve a 50-percent, six-year job creation tax credit for the Eco-Groupe, which designs and makes pre-forms and molds for the bottle and containers industries. According to the state, the company is expected to create 48 full-time jobs, generating $1.9 million in new annual payroll and retaining $6.9 million in current payroll.

The authority also approved a 35-percent, seven-year job creation tax credit for Green Bay Packaging in its move to Lebanon, for an expansion expected to create 22 full-time jobs, generating $1.3 million in new annual payroll while keeping in place $5.3 million in existing payroll. The company makes corrugated packaging material.

Also Monday, the authority approved a 40-percent, five-year job creation credit for Omya Inc. for a consolidation to a location still to be determined, the state said. Omya, a producer of industrial minerals and a distributor of chemical products, is expected to create 25 full-time jobs, creating $1.4 million in new annual payroll while retaining $9.6 million in current employee payroll.
