KETTERING — A company claiming to be “Europe’s leading advanced visualization company” will celebrate the opening of their first United States office on Thursday, Oct.1, according to the Kettering Moraine Oakwood Chamber of Commerce.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at the new Virtalis office at 1952 Woodman Center Drive. The ceremony is at noon.

Virtalis, which is headquarted in the United Kingdom, deals with Virtual Reality projection systems, according to Kalen Gordon, one of Virtalis’ two installation and support engineers who will be working at the new office.

The systems try to foster communication between designers, manufacturers, trainers, marketeers, and senior management in the market sectors of automotive, aerospace, construction industries, academics, engineers, retailers, military and medical.

The new Kettering office will be a service and installation hub for the company’s U.S. businesses, Virtalis, Inc.

“We’re actually handling the North and South America Business,” Gordon said.

Gordon said he and David Blacklock, the other installation and support engineer, chose the rental office space in Kettering because they both live in the city.

Gordon, 34, a 1993 graduate of Milton-Union High School, has been working for the U.K. company for a year.

Blacklock, 36, a 1991 graduate of Meadowdale High School, has been working for Virtalis since July.

The two engineers will have a 3-D Visualization demonstration for the public at the ceremony, so the public can get a better idea of what Virtalis’ work entails.
