Wright-Patt Credit Union members to get dividends

Wright-Patt Credit Union said it will pay member customers a Special Patronage Dividend, a total $6 million to go to approximately 230,000 members.

The Fairborn-based credit union is a nonprofit financial cooperative. Any profits in excess of revenues needed to pay operating expenses and safety reserves should be returned to members, the credit union said on Monday.

To be eligible for the dividend, a member must be in good standing both currently and at the payment date, which is Jan. 3.

Many members will receive $15 for having an active debit card, using home or mobile banking and having eStatements. Some members will receive hundreds of dollars depending on how many services and products they have with the credit union, such as mortgages and vehicle loans. The more use of the credit union, the greater the dividend, the credit union said.

For last year, the total dividends paid amounted to about $5 million.
