Even seasoned theater patrons often write off youth productions as being more apropos for the young performers’ parents and grandparents than for the general public, but that isn’t true at Beavercreek Community Theatre.

A show presented by the BCT Youth Theatre, like all BCT productions, is the end product of extensive auditions, weeks of rehearsals and expert costuming and set construction and the outcome is very professional.

“A Christmas Carol,” being presented at 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays from Dec. 3-12, will appeal to all ages, whether or not they know anyone in the cast of 34.

The coordinator and director of the BCT youth program, which includes productions and classes, is Teresa Connair of Dayton, an actress, teacher and director. The assistant director, stage manager and set designer for “A Christmas Carol” is Kettering resident Katie Storost, an actress who has been teaching, choreographing and directing theater for more than 10 years.

Other adults involved with the production are Beavercreek residents Linda Sellers as the costumer and Anne Heitker as the producer. They will be assisted by Miranda Irvin and Sara Sellers, both of Beavercreek.

The show is a family affair for several families, including the family of Linda and Doug Sellers of Beavercreek. Sarah is one of the student technicians and her brothers, Jared, Joseph and Matthew, are in the cast.

Other sibling pairs in the show are Jack and Grace Blair of Springboro along with Beavercreek residents Maria and Anna Schlegel and Joshua and Kathleen Anderson.

Max Santucci of Dayton plays Scrooge, Keith Walbridge of Dayton is Bob Cratchit, Joshua Anderson of Beavercreek is Marley, Katlyn Tilt of Beavercreek is Mrs. Dilber, Jared Sellers of Beavercreek plays the old man and Jack Blair of Springboro is Thomas.

The ghosts of Christmases past, present and future are portrayed by Katie Goralski of Miamisburg, Sarah Conrad of Fairborn and Samantha Stanley of Beavercreek, respectively.

The cast also includes Caleb Parks and Pauline Humbert of Fairborn; Ashley Davis of Miamisburg; Madison Boyer and Lauren Counts of Kettering; Emmeline Millhouse and Evan Lakins of Centerville; Elijah Smith of Xenia; Montana Iverson of Springboro; Chloe Brewer of Bellbrook and Gwyneth McKiernan of Riverside.

Beavercreek residents in the cast include Makenna Tracy, Jacob Anderson, Katherine Toronto, Tiffany Stevens, Samantha Stanley, Charis Jacobson and Justin Jenkins.

Tickets are $13 for adults, $11 for students, seniors and BCT members and $8 for those in eighth grade and younger. There also will be mat seating in front of the stage for children age 10 and younger for $5. Tickets can be reserved by calling BCT at (937) 429-4737 and leaving a message or by e-mailing boxoffice@bctheatre.org.
