CENTERVILLE — Harry Potter fans are invited to kick off summer with a Wizard Rock the Lawn music concert at the Stubbs Park amphitheater, west of the Centerville Library, 111 W. Spring Valley Road.

The show, scheduled for 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, June 15, will feature three out-of-state bands: The Remus Lupins from Los Angeles, Tonks and the Aurors from Michigan, and The Good Cheer from southern California.

Wizard rock, sometimes called “wrock”, dates to 2002 and celebrates Harry Potter, the children’s storybook wizard created by author J. K. Rowling.

The Remus Lupins, an indie pop rock band from Los Angeles with a national following, has the motto: “Fight evil, read books.” Tonks and the Aurors, from Ann Arbor, Mich., play a mix of alternative rock, folk music, and punk. Lead singer Stephanie has been called the Bruce Springsteen of Wizard Rock. Rounding out the evening will be The Good Cheer, a Muggle band from Agoura, Calif.

Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, and do some “wrocking and rowling” at this free, all-ages show. In case of rain, the concert will be held at the Centerville Library.
