Helena Caputto currently lives in London, England, but she grew up in Mad River Twp. and most of her family remains in Ohio. Her husband, however, is English. And she met him in a rather unconventional way, through a website called Iloveyouraccent.com that she says changed her life.

“I was getting tired of the same old jeans and T-shirt kind of guy every time I went out on a date in Ohio,” Caputto said. “I ran across this website and I met my Robert and I guess you could say European men are different. They just have a better sense, in my opinion, about how to treat a lady.” Caputto said. She and Robert started talking via Skype and seeing each other after about four months of chatting online and were virtually inseparable from that moment on.

“I told my girlfriends about him and the website and some of them have also met some genuine guys on the site,” Caputto said. “I recommend the site to all my female friends. I’m not really big on internet dating but this site is really great.”

Iloveyouraccent.com was created by British citizen Rochelle Peachey, who was also tired of the dating scene and saw an opportunity to bring together two dating cultures “across the pond.”

And that’s exactly what Caputto did. She and Robert have been married for three months and living in London for about a year, though they are currently planning to move back home to Ohio before the end of 2011. “I guess you would say I dated a lot of guys throughout my life, but none very seriously,” Caputto said. “And even though when I met Robert I knew right away he was the one for me, my parents did worry about the distance. But they trusted me because I always have been very level headed.”

Caputto credits Iloveyouraccent.com, of course, not only for introducing her to the love of her life, but also for keeping her safe during the entire courtship process. “When Robert and I got married, I wrote to Rochelle and told her our story,” Caputto said. “She is very active on the site and keeps a watchful eye on all the members. She follows up on complaints and makes sure everyone is safe and honest. You don’t see that on a lot of dating websites. I can’t say enough about it I met the man of my dreams there. I recommend it to everyone.”
