ENGLEWOOD — Ben Deptula of Boy Scout Troop 246 is conducting his Eagle Scout Project, a school supplies drive for underprivileged children, through Oct. 31.
He will be providing the supplies to Crayons to Classrooms, a teacher resource center. Crayons to Classrooms assists teachers at schools where 70 percent or more of the students are at or below the poverty level. There are 81 of these schools located in the Miami Valley.
Scouts delivered bags throughout neighborhoods in the Englewood Community on Oct. 10 and asking residents to fill the bags with school supplies.
On Saturday, Oct. 17, the scouts returned to collect the bags.
Those who did not have an opportunity to fill a bag with school supplies or did not receive a bag still can help by placing school supplies in a barrel at one of four locations: Main Source Bank, Kleptz YMCA, Englewood United Methodist Church and the Northmont Library/Englewood Government Center through Oct. 31.
