OAKWOOD — The Oakwood High School Marching Band will perform at a free community concert hosted by Oakwood boosters John and MJ Gray at 7 p.m. Friday, July 30.
This opening concert for the fall season will take place at the outdoor amphitheater at the Grays’ estate, “The Farm” at 1911 Ridgeway Road in Oakwood.
Under the direction of Ron Nelson, the band will perform selections from the upcoming marching band season. The concert comes at the conclusion of this year’s band camp, an intensive week of preparation for marching performances during the fall.
“We are looking forward to a wonderful evening,” Nelson said. “We thank John and MJ Gray for their generosity in hosting the concert and for their support of the band throughout the year.”
The concert is free and open to the public. Parking is available on-site, and attendees should bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating.
Refreshments and dessert after the concert will be provided by the Oakwood Band Parents Association.
In case of rain, the event will be held in the Oakwood High School Auditorium.
