DAYTON — The YWCA Dayton has kicked off its Back To School Wish List program for 2009 and is seeking donations of school supplies for children in the YWCA’s Domestic Violence Shelter and other programs.
Last fall, the Y supplied 28 families and 64 children with new backpacks and school supplies for the start of school.
Donations of new school supplies can be delivered from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday to the Y administrative offices on Third and Wilkinson streets.
Monetary donations can be made payable to YWCA Dayton and mailed to 141 W. Third St., Dayton, OH 45402.
The donated school supplies will also be distributed as new families enter shelter.
The wish list includes: backpacks/bookbags, 3-ring binders, calculators (basic and scientific), colored pencils and crayons (24 pack).
Also dictionaries, erasers, glue/glue sticks, graph paper, highlighters, ink pens (black, blue, red), wide-ruled paper, pencil bags and No. 2 pencils.
Also pocket folders (with and without prongs), rulers, school boxes, scissors (blunt and sharp), spiral notebooks and boxes of tissues.
