Executives jailed to benefit MDA

VANDALIA — The Muscular Dystrophy Association will “lock-up” local business and community leaders from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Nov. 19.

Participants will arrive at F&S Harley Davidson, 7220 N. Dixie Drive, where they will serve their sentences to raise money for MDA as part of the annual Vandalia Lock-Up.

About 150 local executives and community leaders are expected to participate in the lock-up.

“Jailbirds” are raising $1,600 “bail”— the cost to send two children to camp and help cover the cost of a wheelchair for someone in the Miami Valley.

MDA hopes to raise more than $29,000 to help fund numerous MDA services throughout Ohio.

For more information, call Sally Patton at (937) 296-1160 or e-mail spatton@mdausa.org.

Why should bikers support the MDA – inefficient, poorly administered, rated only two-star by Charity Navigator – when there are many charities rated higher? Better question is, why should bikers support ANY non-biker charity while every year over 100,000 rider households suffer loss of income, limb or life - incurring catastrophic medical bills and burial expenses - often due to the right-of-way violations of careless cagers who go unpunished for their crimes?
