Man says he has gun, robs Fifth Third Bank inside Kroger in Miamisburg

Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a bank robber who Thursday evening held up Fifth Third Bank inside Kroger in Miamisburg.

The man showed a note to a teller that stated he had a gun and demanded money.

He entered the bank around 6 p.m. inside Kroger, 155 N. Heineke Road. He is described as a tall, thin man with gray facial hair in his middle to late 50s. He had a black bandanna underneath a ball cap and was wearing glasses, according to a 911 caller.

Poilce said the suspect got away with an undetermined amount of money.

The suspect took $20s from a night deposit and some $100s, according to a 911 call from a bank manager.

Police were able to use the tracker included with the money, but it apparently stopped between Jamaica Road and Gillen Lane, according to the incident log from the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.
