Cash reward offered in gun theft case in Springboro

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the National Shooting Sports Foundation – the trade association for the firearms industry – are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglary of Peabody Sports, a federal firearms licensee in Springboro.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered, according to a press release Wednesday from ATF.

According to the release, at 5:45 a.m., July 16, two people forced their way into the building at 30 Tahlequah Trail in Springboro, triggering an alarm.

The suspects were captured on video surveillance taking 31 handguns and one rifle.

ATF is working with the Springboro Police Department to investigate the incident.
