A 22-year-old Franklin man has been indicted on three counts of gross sexual imposition, alleging that seven years ago he had sexual contact with a child younger than 8 years old.

Michael Abner is accused of sexually abusing the victim at a house on Clearbrook Drive in Franklin, according to a press release issued today by Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell.

Since the time of the alleged incidents, the home has been a day-care center, according to the release.

“Although Abner knew the child-victim separate and apart from the daycare, Abner has had access to other children during this time,” Fornshell said in the release announcing the unsealing of the indictment charging Abner.

Court records indicate the indictment was filed on Jan. 22 and Abner was arraigned last Friday in Warren County Common Pleas Court.

On Feb. 2, Judge Tim Tepe set bail for Abner that required him to be monitored electronically. Tepe also issued a no-contact order.

Lawyer Paris Ellis, appointed on Feb. 1, could not be reached.

Authorities currently have no evidence there are other victims in the case, Fornshell said.

The press release asked parents with “any suspicions or concerns that their child may have been a victim” to call Detective Jeff Stewart at 937-746-2882 or email
