Grand jury returns formal charges in 2015 Harrison Twp. wreck

A 25-year-old man has been summonsed into court on Dec. 20 on charges of aggravated vehicular assault and OVI stemming from a crash in September 2015 that sent one person to a hospital suffering from serious injuries.

According to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office, a county grand jury returned formal charges accusing Brandon Coleman of causing a collision at North Main Street and Erdiel Drive in Harrison Twp. on Sept. 19, 2015.

The woman driving the vehicle that was struck was ejected and suffered serious injuries.

According to prosecutor’s spokesman Greg Flannagan, sheriff’s investigators said they have evidence that Coleman had alcohol and marijuana in his system at the time of the accident, and he was driving at high speed.

The summons means Coleman is not in custody, according to the prosecutor’s office.
