Lawyer, radio personality Lisa Wells reindicted in Miami County

A Cincinnati defense lawyer and radio legal analyst was reindicted by a Miami County grand jury on drug-related charges in a traffic stop on Interstate 75 near Piqua a year ago.

Lisa Wells, 37, of West Chester Twp. was charged by state troopers following the Jan. 25, 2016, stop during which a trooper reported seeing pills on the front seat and assorted pills in her purse during a search. Wells was indicted last year on four felony counts of possession of drugs identified as amphetamines and Oxycodone and pleaded not guilty.

The charges were dismissed late last year by county prosecutors, who reserved the right to resubmit the case.

As a result, Wells was indicted on four felony counts of possession of drugs and one misdemeanor of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination.

Arraignment for Wells, scheduled for Jan. 17, was continued this week until Jan. 24 in Miami County Common Pleas Court. In the request for a continuance, her lawyers said Wells also was scheduled to be in a trial Jan. 17 in a Kentucky courtroom.

She has served as a guest and legal analyst on WLW Radio.
