Caretakers of the girl brought her to St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, according to Washington Twp. Police Chief Rick Core. The girl was then transferred to Dayton Children’s Hospital, he said, where medical officials said an examination revealed she had been sexually assaulted by bodily force.

Hospital staff called Washington Twp. Police, Core said, and they began their investigation.

Washington Twp. police weren’t able to locate Williams initially, Core said. But he was apprehended by Sidney Police after he was found in Sidney, the chief said, and picked up by Washington Twp. Police on Friday. Williams is lodged in the Logan County Jail awaiting an arraignment.
