VIDEO: 2 reports of stolen Trump signs in area

UPDATE @ 3:45 p.m.:

Another report of stolen Donald Trump signs was made in Centerville Friday morning.

Police said they received a report from a resident that several Trump signs were stolen from their yard in the 100 block of Zengel Drive around 8 p.m. Friday.

The resident captured the alleged thief on surveillance video.

Police said stealing a political sign could result in a theft charge if the suspects are identified.

INITIAL REPORT:

A Dayton resident and veteran captured surveillance video of what appears to be a man stealing a Donald Trump sign from his yard last night.

Nathan Hellweg lives in the 3100 block of Brooks Street and said his surveillance camera on his home captures the male grab the sign from his yard. Until he can pick up a replacement sign he has placed a dry erase board in his yard that reads “Sign thief we got you on camera! Share a cell with Hillary.”

According to Hellweg, several other Trump signs were stolen from other people in his neighborhood.

Hellweg said he did contact police about the alleged sign theft and plans to replace them today.
