Brent D. Clark of Miami Twp. was found guilty today of punching a Wright State University freshman May 15 while she was inside her car at the intersection of Ohio 725 and South Gebhart Church Road in Miamisburg.

Police said Clark apparently was frustrated at Savannah Johnson’s slower speed. When she stopped at a red light, he got out of his car and started punching the driver, whose windows were down.

Johnson told News Center 7’s Sean Cudahy the incident happened shortly after she picked up her younger siblings from daycare.

“While he was beating me, my siblings kept saying ‘please stop hitting my sister,’” she said this spring.

Johnson took a photo of Clark’s car on her cellphone, which led police to him.

Clark, who was convicted following a bench trial in Miamisburg Municipal Court, was sentenced to pay $155 in fines and serve 180 days in jail, with credit for 21 days already served.

He was booked into the jail shortly before 4:30 p.m. to start his sentence, online jail records show.
