FAIRBORN – Dispatch received calls in the early afternoon in the 300 block of W. Dayton Drive that a male was passed out in a chair on the front porch while a child was squirming in a seat in front of him.
Officers found the man with five empty beer cans and a bottle of hot sauce on a table next to him. The hot sauce – another form of liquid lunch? – was all over the cans and around the mouth and mustache of the man, who was about to be cited for child endangering and poor food choices.
Two apparently unrelated females in the house said they were on their way to work and tried to wake the man after they turned off his radio, but were unsuccessful.
The man’s mother came over to help when she took a call from the baby’s mother, who was not identified.
The man was taken to the Fairborn jail and later released, but not as a baby sitter.
