Miamisburg man knows New York terror suspect as ‘very friendly’

A Miamisburg man told the New York Post he knew the man suspected in the New York City attack, calling him “very friendly.”

Kobiljon Matkarov, 37, said he met suspected terrorist Sayfullo Saipov in Florida a few years ago after Saipov came from Uzbekistan.

“He is very good guy, he is very friendly… he is like little brother… he look at me like big brother,” Matkarov was quoted by the Post Tuesday from his home in Miamisburg.

Matkarov said he’d been working for Uber and living in New Jersey as recently as this summer, according to the Post.

Matkarov had a trip planned to Uzbekistan in June and was flying out of New York with his children and wife– he reached out to Saipov for a ride, according to the Post.

A summary of Matkarov’s addresses in recent years include two sites in Miami Twp., which encompasses Miamisburg, and three others in Fort Myers, Fla., according to a background check conducted by this news organization.

The latest local address was from October 2014 to June of this year. In 2011, 2012 and 2014 he is listed at three different addresses in Fort Myers, Fla., according to the background check.

A undated address listed previous to the Florida locations was a Miami Twp. site.
