Police investigate after man shot in abdomen in Springfield

UPDATE @ 1:12 p.m. (Nov. 25):

Springfield police continue to investigate after a man was shot in the abdomen Friday morning.

Johnny Haynes, 27, of 801 Oak St., said he was shot by an unknown man after confronting him for being in Haynes’ driveway.

Haynes noticed the man and a dark SUV and pickup truck in his driveway, went outside to confront the man and the man fired a shot at him, according to a Springfield police report.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident. Haynes’ was taken to Miami Valley Hospital and his condition was listed as fair on Friday afternoon.

Springfield police continue to investigate after a man was shot in the abdomen Friday morning.

Dispatchers said the victim was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center, but is expected to be transferred to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment. His condition and severity of injuries sustained is still unavailable.

Investigators said the victim told police he heard a noise in his garage, and was shot when he went to investigate.

Springfield police are investigating after a man was reportedly shot on Oak Street early Friday morning.

Officers and medics were sent to the 800 block of Oak Street just before 3 a.m. on reports of a man shot.

Initial reports indicated the victim was shot in the abdomen, but his condition and severity of injuries sustained was unknown.
