Police looking for man who robbed Speedway in Franklin

Police in Franklin are asking for your help in tracking down the man who robbed the Speedway on East Second Street of an undisclosed amount of cash Thursday evening.

Lt. Brian Pacifico said according to a preliminary investigation, a white male with hazel eyes and approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall kept one of his hands in a pocket of the dark gray winter coat he was wearing when he asked the clerk for money.

That was about 8:45 p.m. He also was wearing a navy blue hoodie underneath the coat and possibly denim jeans.

He fled on foot, headed east toward the Fifth Third Bank. A Middletown police K-9 unit tracked from the Speedway, 1295 E. Second St., to the rear of a nearby Frisch’s Big Boy restaurant, where police think a vehicle may have been parked.

No weapon was shown and no one was injured.

If you have information about the robbery or the suspect, you are asked to call Patrolman Jesse Shannon at 937-746-2882.
