Police respond to fight behind Oregon District bar

Dayton police responded to a fight this weekend in the parking lot behind Ned Pepper’s bar in the Oregon District, according to a report.

The incident took place around 2 a.m. in the parking lot at 14 Gates Street.

Police said they were flagged down during the fight and “observed several individuals in the parking lot … who began to leave the area as we pulled into the lot.”

“We then observed the rear window of a black Nissan” SUV with shattered glass, police said, noting the glass may have been broken during the fight.

Several employees from the bar gave descriptions of possible suspects, none of which were consistent “other than possibly a heavy set white male wearing a black shirt.”

Because of the number of individuals in the parking lot at the time, police said it would be difficult to find a possible suspect.

Sunday’s incident isn’t the first time a fight has broken out in the lot.

In May 2016, two people were arrested after a fight that left a man with serious injuries.
