Dayton police arrested William D. Sloan, 37, on Wednesday evening and he was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of felony escape and a parole violation, jail records show.

Sloan escaped April 18, when he was last seen around 12:10 p.m. on Heincke Road after he walked away from a work site. The orange jumpsuit he was wearing was found several hours later.

We are working to find out how police were able to take Sloan back into custody.

The county’s Secure Transitional Offender Program is a locked-down facility that offers mental health, drug treatment, education and job training programs.
