UPDATE @ 11:30 p.m.:

A man identified by Xenia police as a person of interest in a stabbing early Sunday has turned himself in.

Michael Grooms, 41, of Xenia, was booked into the Greene County Jail at 10:35 p.m. on suspicion of aggravated felonious assault. He is accused of stabbing a 30-year-old Fairborn man in the neck with a box cutter during an argument around 2:40 a.m. in the 200 block of Center Street.

UPDATE @ 12:20 p.m.:

A 30-year-old Fairborn man was stabbed in the neck during an argument inside a Center Street residence early this morning.

Xenia police said they are searching for a person of interest they identified as 41-year-old Michael Grooms of Xenia. 

The incident was reported around 2:40 a.m. in the 200 block of Center Street.

The victim, who was stabbed with a box cutter, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where police said he was in stable condition.

INITIAL REPORT:

A person has reportedly been stabbed in the neck following an argument in Xenia Sunday morning. 

Xenia police were dispatched to the stabbing in the 200 block of Center Street around 2:45 a.m., according to scanner traffic. 

Initial reports indicate a person was stabbed in the neck with a box cutter at the address. 

Crews arrived on scene to find a victim in the house laying on a couch with a bloody towel wrapped around their neck. A medic unit is reportedly working to transfer the victim to a hospital.

Dispatchers could not confirm details, but initial reports indicate crews are working to locate a suspect who fled the scene. 

Greene County deputies have been called to the scene to assist in a search and investigation.
