Threats of clown activity lead to school “partial lockdown”

Social media posts stating “clown activity” in the area around Wright Brothers Middle School in Dayton caused enough concern that school security officials initiated a partial lockdown of the school and a one-call to parents of students.

Dayton Public Schools spokeswoman Jill Moberly said “verified social media posts of clown activity” lead to the decision to secure the school. She said no sightings of clowns in the area actually occurred. She would not give detail about what the social media posts stated regarding clown activity.

The same school went on lockdown recently when juveniles entered the facility with BB guns.

No children have been injured and the school said the partial lock down was put in place as a precaution.

School officials said no clowns have actually been seen on school property.

A parent who received the one-call alerted our newsroom to the lockdown.
