Tipp City man sentenced to six years in home robbery

TROY – Six years in prison was ordered Thursday, June 22, for a Tipp City man convicted of felony aggravated robbery in a November robbery for drugs from a Tipp City residence.

Benjamin Danon, 28, pleaded no contest and was found guilty in May of the felony charge in Miami County Common Pleas Court. There was no plea deal in the case.

Tipp City police and county prosecutors said the robbery was planned by Danon, who wanted to take back drugs allegedly stolen from him. Although Danon denied being armed, everyone in the house said he had a gun and threatened a resident with it, said Janna Parker, an assistant county prosecutor.

Danon told Judge Christopher Gee that he “just wasn’t thinking that night” and continued to deny having a weapon.

Gee said Danon showed no remorse for his actions. Danon was given credit for 182 days served in the county jail.

Also pleading in the case were Madelyn Johnson, 19, and Cody Allwood, 22, both of Tipp City. They pleaded to amended charges of attempted robbery and face up to 18 months in prison each at sentencings scheduled July 5.

A fourth man indicted in the case remains at large.
