Troopers seize marijuana, hashish in Miami County traffic stop

Troopers seized marijuana and hashish with a street value of more than $20,000 early this month during a traffic stop in Miami County.

The driver of a 2008 Chrysler Sebring with Tennessee plates was stopped at 10:30 p.m. near milepost 82 on Interstate 75 for lane and turn violations, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Piqua Post.

Troopers noticed criminal indicators, according to the patrol, and a K-9 sniffed out possible drugs in the vehicle. Troopers then searched the car, where the found two boxes with multiple bags of vacuum-sealed hydroponic marijuana and 28 grams of solid hashish worth $20,370.

The driver, 31-year-old Ali Hassan Daher of Madison, Tenn., was arrested and booked into the Miami County Jail on suspicion of trafficking in marijuana and trafficking in hashish, and possession of criminal tools --all felony charges.

Daher has since been released from jail on bond.
