Two arrested in connection to Ridgewood break-ins

Two men have been arrested this week in connection with a string of break-ins in the Ridgewood neighborhood, according to the Springfield Police Division.

Jeffery Allen Jenkins, 38, and Ronald Lee Moore, 48, were arrested on Tuesday evening. Jenkins was charged with drug paraphernalia offenses, possessing drug of abuse instruments, and possession of drugs, court records show. Moore was arrested on multiple warrants, according to court documents.

Moore was also charged with breaking and entering in connection to recent break-ins that have been reported in the Ridgewood neighborhood, Springfield Police Sgt. Joe Tedeschi said. Both men allegedly are connected to the break-ins, he said.

Ridgewood neighbors have been concerned in recent weeks about multiple burglary attempts, the Springfield News-Sun previously reported. Surveillance video caught people walking down the street in the middle of night.

One family ran into a burglar in their home, who immediately fled.

The investigation into the break-ins is ongoing, Tedeschi said.
