Woman kicks in ex-boyfriend’s door, charged with burglary

DAYTON — A woman was taken into police custody today after kicking in the front door of her ex-boyfriend’s home.

Laura D. Sorrells, 43, has been charged with burglary and is being held at the Montgomery County jail, according to online records.

Sorrells told police she called her former boyfriend and told him she was coming over  to his trailer, in the 200 bolck of Big Pine Road, to talk to him. She told officers she knew his current girlfriend was inside the home, and admitted to kicking down the door.

Sorrell’s former boyfriend reported she banged on the door and windows of the trailer where he lived before kicking in the door.

“The door and the door frame suffered damage, and Sorrells’ muddy footprint was clearly visible on the front  door,” wrote Officer Robert Cleaver in the incident report.

A court hearing has been scheduled for Sorrells later today.
