Wright Patt airman sentenced in drug case

A senior airman at Wright-Patterson was sentenced to five months in confinement after pleading guilty to drug-related charges, according to a Wright-Patterson spokesman.

Sr. Airman Timothy R. Kirklin, of Dayton, pleaded guilty Nov. 8 in front of a military judge to four charges of possession of drugs, including marijuana, heroin and other drugs, and three counts of drug use, and violation of a general order, among reported offenses, according to spokesman Wright-Patterson spokesman Daryl Mayer.

Kirklin, who was a bioenvironmental engineering technician with the 88th Aerospace Medical Squadron, was ordered to receive a bad conduct discharge and reduced to the lowest enlisted rank, Mayer said.

Kirkland had served in the Air Force for four years.
