According to Biddinger, the company was made aware of the allegations in December, when a criminal investigation was launched by Xenia police.
According to a Xenia police report, the assistant principal at Xenia High School reported to police that “she received information from students that [the] school bus driver...may have participated in inappropriate activities online and in person with juvenile students.”
The alleged incidents occurred in an apartment between August and December 2016, the report read.
We contacted Xenia Superintendent Denny Morrison, who deferred our questions to First Student.
Biddinger said the driver did pass a background check with First Student, which would include information on her criminal, driving and employment history.
Biddinger did say that if something did appear in the background check that may be of question that the company handles those situations on a "case-by-case basis."
The charge being pursued in this case is a misdemeanor, contributing to the delinquency of a child, according to the report.
