73-year-old man pleaded guilty to soliciting teen

An Anna man accused of soliciting a developmentally disabled teen for sexual activity last summer in Piqua pleaded guilty Tuesday to felony solicitation in Miami County Common Pleas Court.

William L. Myers, 73, of rural Anna was charged by Piqua police after the 17-year-old male told police he was downtown when a man repeatedly asked him to get into his van. After he complied, the man drove to the Forest Hill Cemetery where he offered to pay money to perform a sex act, police said. The boy said he refused.

Police said Myers was later identified as the man involved.

Judge Jeannine Pratt accepted Myers’ plea and ordered a presentenced investigation. Sentencing is scheduled for March 27. Myers is free on a recognizance bond.
