LEBANON — The last of three men who died in a meth lab explosion and fire in Franklin this month has been identified through state dental records as a 41-year-old Middletown resident.
A forensic dentist with the Montgomery County morgue has confirmed John Carey is the third victim, Doyle Burke, chief investigator for the Warren County Coroner’s Office, said Monday, June 21.
Burke said the identification was made after 6:30 p.m.
Carey, along with Arnold Ray Broughton, 38, the renter of the house at 9135 Deardoff Road, and William Drew Miller, 28, formerly of Middletown, died in the June 2vexplosion and fire.
Burke said Carey had lived on and off at the Franklin residence.
Miller had moved out of his Middletown apartment about three weeks before the incident and had been staying with Broughton, Burke said.
The coroner’s office has not released a cause of death pending the completion of the autopsy reports.
Franklin fire crews were dispatched at 3:52 a.m. after a passer-by reported seeing a “field fire.” When crews arrived, the home was leveled.
Neighbors reported hearing an explosion before the blaze, said Franklin Fire Chief Jonathan Westendorf.
