LEBANON -- A Warren County man already charged in Warren County Common Pleas Court with armed robbery in Lebanon was indicted on Monday, June 29, for attempting to drown a girlfriend in a culvert in Clearcreek Twp.
A grand jury indicted Clinton N. Strunk, 25, of Maineville, for attempted murder, felonious assault and domestic violence, according to a report issued Monday.
Authorities say Strunk attempted to drown the woman, 24, of Cincinnati, in six inches of water in a culvert on Springboro Road on June 14.
The woman suffered facial, eye and ear injuries before being rescued when residents heard her screaming, officials said. Strunk was arrested by Clearcreek Twp. police and remains in the Warren County Jail on $500,000 bond, according to records.
On June 1, Strunk was indicted in the same court for aggravated robbery in a case bound over from Lebanon Municipal Court in April, according to court records. He was free on $20,000 bond at the time of the alleged attack in Clearcreek Twp., according to records.
The victim was hospitalized with multiple injuries, including a broken eardrum, according to Matt Nolan, spokesman for the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.
"She's definitely doing better but still has a lot of recovery time ahead," Nolan said.
