Miami County Sheriff’s deputies are asking residents in the southern part of the county to be on the watch with the return of day-time residential burglaries, particularly in Monroe Twp. The department also is reporting a surge of thefts from vehicles in Bethel Twp., where more than 25 complaints have been received, as well as some thefts from vehicles in Elizabeth Twp.
Chief Deputy Dave Duchak said one of the latest burglaries occurred around 2 p.m. Dec. 20 when two white men in a white four-door sedan with all black rims kicked in the front door of a home on Ohio 571 just west of Tipp City.
The department released a surveillance video showing the video and a man in hopes of obtaining information on who may be involved.
Tips can be called to the county 911 dispatch center at (937) 339-6400. Anonymous tips also can be left on the sheriff’s office web site at www.miamicountysheriff.org.
