LEBANON — A former Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputy pleaded guilty Tuesday, April 6 to having sexual contact with a young boy.
Michael Pizzo, 43, pleaded to a bill of information in Warren County Common Pleas Court to the charge of unlawful sexual conduct, a fourth-degree felony. He faces up to 18 months in prison.
Pizzo was accused of having sexual contact with the minor boy in the Waynesville area in late 2007 and into 2008, according to Assistant Prosecutor Matt Nolan. Pizzo had met the boy online through the “Craigs List” Web site, Nolan said.
Pizzo is expected to be sentenced in the next three to four weeks following a pre-sentencing investigation. He also faces up to a $5,000 fine and will be classified as a Tier 2 sexual offender, Nolan said.
A Tier 2 sexual offender is required to register with address verification with the county sheriff’s office every 180 days for 25 years.
Judge Neal Bronson released Pizzo on his own recognizance pending sentencing and ordered him to stay away from the victim.
Pizzo’s last day of employment as a deputy sheriff was March 26, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. He had been with the sheriff’s office since 1994.
