DAYTON — The owners of a large Florida escort service regularly sent prostitutes to Dayton, Cincinnati and Cleveland during the past decade, according to an federal indictment unsealed Wednesday, July 21.

The indictment does not list how often Miami Companions sent prostitutes to Dayton, or to what hotels. However, the company’s website shows that “Marina” is visiting this week and “Andi” plans to arrive Monday.

Prices range from $325 for a “one-hour introduction” to $5,000 for a “48-hour weekend getaway.”

The owners and some employees were indicted on six conspiracy charges. The indictment was filed in the Eastern District of Michigan, where the company had a large presence, according to a statement released by Barbara L. McQuade, the U.S. Attorney there.

The statement calls Miami Companions “one of the largest prostitution organizations” in the country. The company, which started in 2001, has a call center in Costa Rica, as well as “exotic beach houses” for customers in Mexico, Columbia and Costa Rica, according to the indictment.

Four people, including the two owners, the office manager and the call center manager, were all indicted. All four have been arrested, according to McQuade.

While much of the company’s business was in south Florida, the company sent escorts all over the country. Johns would call the call center to make appointments, and the office manager made the travel arrangements.

After the prostitute arrived at the hotel, the customer would be told where to meet the prostitute, according to the indictment.

The customers paid in cash or by credit card. Statements would read “MC Consulting Associates.” The prostitutes kept 60 percent of the payments, minus about 50 percent of travel and lodging costs, the indictment said.

The prostitutes would deliver the money either by depositing it into company-controlled bank accounts, purchasing a prepaid debit Green Dot card, or giving it directly to the owners.

When the company started, it was booking about 100 appointments daily. Because the call center costs was averaging about $10,000 weekly, the owners moved it from Florida to Panama, then to Costa Rica, the indictment said.

Miami Companions also kept a password-protected database, administered by an IT company, that contained “information about the (customers), including their place of employment, contact information and sexual preferences, as well as calendar information regarding which women were traveling to which cities,” the indictment said.

The database, which contains more than 10,000 names, was used to verify the customers when one would call for an appointment, the indictment said.
