SPRINGFIELD — A former Northeastern High School teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a female student has pleaded guilty to charges of sexual battery, according to the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office.
Anthony Parker, 36, pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual battery June 18, said Assistant Prosecutor Andy Wilson, who handles crimes against juveniles. He will be sentenced at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, in the court of Clark County Common Pleas.
Wilson said he will make a sentencing recommendation but declined to discuss what the recommendation would be, adding that he’s pleased with the outcome.
“I guess we’ll wait and see what the sentence is but as far as his guilt, that’s exactly what I was shooting for,” Wilson said of Parker.
Parker was charged with four counts of sexual battery in January, after authorities began investigating him when school officials reported rumors that he was involved in a sexual relationship with a student, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
He resigned Jan. 22 from his position as a social studies teacher at Northeastern High School and surrendered his teaching license to the state board of education in March.
