DAYTON — The family of a man who died after being shot in the neck on Thanksgiving day has established a fund to help pay for his funeral expenses.
The fund, Thelma L. Reynolds for the Benefit of Darnell L. Wilson, has been opened at Fifth-Third Bank.
Donations will be used “strictly for the funeral costs,” said Reynolds, the victim’s mother, on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
Wilson, 35, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital on Thursday, Nov. 26, after a shooting occurred at about 7:30 a.m. on his doorstep in the 4700 block of Germantown Pike, according to Dayton police and fire officials.
Wilson died as a result of those injuries, police said.
Donations to the fund can be made at any area Fifth-Third Bank, Reynolds said.
