DAYTON — U.S. marshals have arrested a street gang member they believe shot two men in the early morning hours of Christmas Day outside Club Juicy in Harrison Twp.
Cathy J. Jones, acting U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Shamar Davis on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
Davis, 21, was arrested at an apartment in the 300 block of Timberlake Drive, Vandalia. Authorities offered no details as to what led them to the address.
Tuesday afternoon, he remained in the Montgomery County Jail.
“Davis, a reputed member of the ‘Money Go Getters’ street gang, has had numerous contacts with law enforcement where he has been in possession of a weapon,” authorities said.
According to state and county records, Davis has a concealed carry permit.
Davis was sought on four counts of felonious assault.
Gunfire at the club, 120 Shoup Mill, broke out about 1:37 a.m. The victims had been in a fight inside the club and once they moved outside, a man pulled a pistol and began shooting.
The two victims, who were not identified, were left with non-life threatening injuries and taken by ambulance to a hospital.
The shooter fled in a vehicle.
The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team assisted the sheriff’s office in the manhunt.
