DAYTON — Someone sprayed shots from an assault rifle into a Dayton house early Friday morning, Sept. 18, striking a man inside in the head, according to Sgt. Richard Blommel of the Dayton police.
The 24-year-old man who was hit did not have a life-threatening injury, however, Blommel said.
The sergeant said someone entered the alley behind 121 Shoop Ave. at about 1:30 a.m. and opened fire on the house from the rear. Police who arrived a short time later found 10 shell casings on the ground in the area.
Blommel said the injured man did not identify the person who shot him. The victim said his assailant was driving a black sport utility vehicle, but he provided little other information.
